Internet of Things (IoT): A revolutionary change

Change is inevitable and the same holds true for the world of technology as well where every second you come across new technologies and services.

Such is Internet of Things (IOT) that happens to be an integrated and core part of Future Internet and can be referred as a dynamic global network infrastructure with self configuring capabilities based on standard and inter-operable communication protocols, where physical and virtual ‘things’ have their own identification, physical features, virtual personalities, use intelligent interfaces and are seamlessly integrated into the information network.

As it comes to IOT, it ‘s expected that the ‘things’ become active participants in business, information and social processes where they are allowed to make interaction among themselves and with the environment with exchange of data and information ‘sensed’ about the environment, making an autonomous reaction to the “real/physical world’ events. They are influenced by running processes that triggers actions and create services with or without direct human intrusion. It’s directly through the interfaces that interaction is possible with these ‘smart things’ over the Internet and it also allows query and change their state, taking into consideration security and privacy issues.

In the last century, we have seen the emergence of kind global data field and to be in sync with them, the planet, natural system, the human system, physical arm jacks, etc, have always generated in anonymous form of data. It was not possible to see, hear and capture it, however now it’s accessible as all the stuff is instrumented and connected, thus allowing access to feel the entire stuff. It’s said that over 1 billion people are using internet at the moment and the number is expected to go double within the next couple of years. It was possible to book devices that were linked up together using networks senses on things such as temperature sensors, traffic sensors, water flow rate of sensors, Data speed transmitting, etc.

Soon there might be time when entire stuff is going to be handled by devices

Internet of Things (IoT) is indeed the hot topic of today. However despite the hoopla there is something which needs to be considered here. As per HOSPA in 2013, there was one device connected to the internet per person on earth and they expect that by the year 2020, this number will touch a new range that will be like 9 devices per person. So as per the current scenario, 80 ‘things’ get connected to the internet every second while in the coming years, you will explore that more than 250 ‘things’ connected to the internet every second.

This will directly have an impact on the technical industries, which are benefiting majorly from new and future ‘connected’ innovations. Going with IoT solutions we can increase the operational efficiency and get the more personalized guest experience to attain relevant concern.

It’s expected that IoT physical objects are going to be connected to the internet everyday and can be recognized on other devices, while gathering and sharing data. As per the researchers, more than 71.9% of transportation, travel and hospitality executives are using IOT in their mobile apps for their customers, while when considered from the aspect of the Business Executive, this is somewhere 46.5% overall.

IoT has myriad of advantages to the customers and it is certain to change the whole scenario to a huge extent.
