HTC brings its latest phone One A9 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow!

It was just a day before that we announced that Google is coming with its news Nexus phone packed up with latest Android offering Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Now HTC has joined in the league as it is geared up to launch its new phone HTC One A9 with Google’s new mobile operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This device comes from HTC’s top-end One family though it differs in terms of the design and has somewhat scaled down specs. This full HD 5-inch display phone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera, an octa-core processor, a physical home button that doubles as a fingerprint reader and an all-metal design. Striking, isn’t it?

The One A9 will be globally on sale in early November.

Design and display

Quite identical to the iPhone 6, this all metal body phone is flat on the back with identical inset lines running across the top and bottom. It comes in varying colors such as silver, dark grey, gold and there is a dark red version is also available. In fact, just as iPhone 6, there’s a physical home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner on the front and the screen’s glass curves at the edges. Look wise, it’s a good phone and comfortable to hold. It has 5-inch screen and the display’s full HD (1,920×1,080-pixel) resolution is sharp in my hands-on time. The size and resolution is same as the One M9. It comes with 16GB of storage as standard with a microSD card. Then it also has a Micro-USB port for charging instead of the new USB Type-C ports found on the new Nexus phones.

Features

It runs Google’s latest version of Android, 6.0 Marshmallow with new features, like Now on Tap that integrates Google Now functions deeper into the phone. There is also Android Doze that promises better battery life in standby mode while Android Pay is the mobile payment system that is for only US as of now. Meanwhile, instead of the BoomSound speakers, it’s equipped with high-resolution audio capabilities, comprising support for 24-bit FLAC audio and has the ability of upscale lower-resolution audio from streaming services and a more powerful output for headphones.

The camera quality is good with 13-megapixel camera on the back while the front has Ultrapixel camera. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, an octa-core chip and has a small battery, only 2,150mAh.

Outlook

This is a good office that has many similar features present in One M9, still what sets it apart is the design that’s similar to A9. Over all it’s a phone worth buying and stay tuned for full-review.
